Health Insurance

With the exception of AIA, does anyone know of reputable health insurance agent in Hua Hin. Am 59 years old with some pre-existing medical conditions and understand what that means in terms of premiums. Any replies most appreciated.

I'm still too much of a FNG/New kid on the block to have actually tried him, but some folk recommend contacting a guy named Colin Devonshire at the Hua Hin Oberver, who seems to offer less obviously farang rates. His address is [email protected]. Good luck!

yes but i think it's better to contact Bupa direct via e mail ore fone, they speak perfect english and can inform you better then a "middle" man i guess ...

anyway good luck and hope you don't need them to much ...

BUPA won't insure folks over 70 and they and other insurance companies charge ridiculous rates for retirees under 70. This discrimination is not allowed in many countries. Thai medical services are so cheap that I reckon it is not worth taking out medical insurance

My oldest son, who's nearly 16, is talented and has been seemingly unlucky in some of his athletic endeavors. He's had three concussions, a broken femur, twice a broken arm ..

I still carry BC from the US for my two boys, but if they need treatment in HH where would you suggest for competent care?

As for me, I carry no med insurance, so the question as it applies to me is where to go for good care that won't break the bank.

I'm asking, I guess, for opinions regarding both emergency and non-emergency care. Could be the two call for different medical service providers.

i guess San Paolo hospital...you can allways go in and ask for different treatments/prices ...

a frind's wife had a mc accident a few weeks ago...was in the hospital (icu)for 1 day, no mayor surgery, total of 4 day in a regular room..... 58.000 bath...

Many thanks for all your replies...did have a few hours in San Paolo with chest pains, ICU for 10 hours, some medication to take home, bill for 18 000 baht..recommeded to Bangkok Heart Hospital, angiogram and a night in ICU, 43000 baht, so you can see my interest in health insurance...a grateful awstrayian
