In CM for about 3 months and we cant decide whether to get a bike long term (as we did for the 3 months spent in phuket) or just to get a bike on the occasions we need one and rely on public transport when we dont.. can anyone tell me what sort of rates we'd be looking at if we go a bike by the month? i'm hoping it would be less than phuket?

Hi, out of experience I suggest you go to J&N Expat Cafe/motorbike rent, inside MoonMuang Soi 2 (at the T junction, right behind mandalay club) in Chiang Mai.

They have a fair collection of new model Honda bikes in various prices, models, automatic and manual. All well maintained and good service, interesting short/long term rental offers. Beside this, the owner can provide itenerary suggestions of the northern provinces, and has good road maps available.

Prices cannot be compared with the rates in Phuket, J&N has many expats as clients, as well as tourists.

Phone: 053-280 371 english/dutch/thai

This is a recommendable address, enjoy your stay !
