October 3, 201015 yr I stood next to Ian Forbes' brother once - he has a 32% chance of remembering that - and me, Smokie36 and PatsyCat all drank together in 'Diggers', though none of us were aware of it at the time. I've no idea who the intoxicated Glaswegian was - perhaps he would like to step forward? SC
October 3, 201015 yr I've met all the people Moornakers mentioned, most of the mods, Bkkjames, Zsazsa, and some others. I worked out with robblock, but I sometimes wonder if some of the other foreigners I see at the gym are members. There are several posters who have mentioned the VFW, so I am sure I know them, I just just don't know who has what nic. I have to admit, that I do wonder quit a bit on this when I am in places with foreigners.
October 3, 201015 yr Author On thaivisa you might read a post that upsets your way of thinking and leave a hard reply or the dreaded RED REPUTATION!!!! and even end up thinking that poster is not a good person. and then the next day your down the pub having a beer talking with him and you dont even know it! the reason I started this thread is because of the example above. I ran a place where many expats frequented regulary on most nights and often wondered who they were on TV. if I ever asked I would just get a blank stare and told they read the forum but never signed up! So I might be very good friends with Chunky1 and dont even know it
October 3, 201015 yr Last year I was standing next to a western woman on the shuttle bus from the aircraft to the terminal at Suvarnabhumi following the UAL flight from Tokyo ... the usual chit-chat ... where are you heading; what are you going to do in Thailand etc. ... after a few more replies I said: "I know who you are." ... She said: "Who?" I said: "SBK" ... and then I introduced myself ... and I guess we are still on speaking terms ... haven't made the trip yet to KP.
October 3, 201015 yr Friend of mine was a mod on a forum, he was not secretive about his identity, big mistake, a disgruntled poster who he had banned showed up at a meeting and gave him a real problem, in fact he beat him up. Don'y identify yourselves is my advice..
October 3, 201015 yr I once had a PM sent to me by a person I knew who recognised something about a place I mentioned staying in Bangkok in one of my posts. He asked me who I was. I recognised his name, so I PM'd him back and gave him my real name. Haven't seen him in Bangkok, however, if he is still living there. That was a few years ago. I once assumed that a person posting on TV who called himself xxxxxxxx was the same person I knew some years ago in Bangkok as xxxxxxxx. So I PM'd him and asked him if he was the person I knew. Turned out he wasn't....just using the same log-in name as the friend I once knew had called himself. Edited October 3, 201015 yr by IMA_FARANG
