im going to the vfs office with the missus this week to hand over our tourist visa application,from what i gather i just turn up there take a ticket and wait till we are called to be seen is this correct?any other tips or advice anyone got be much appreciated

When you enter the building you will most likely be approached by people offering you assistance. Don't make the mistake of thinking they are in any way affiliated with VFS or that they are out to do anything apart from part you from your hard earned money. Ignore them or tell them to leave you alone. Go up to the first floor and show your wife into the VFS entrance. The staff usually prefer for only the applicant to enter.

Indeed, will people please say which country they are asking about. ThaiVisa is not just for Brits and VFS handle visa applications for countries other than the UK, though not from the same office.

I've amended the topic title to include UK.
