FRESNO, CALIFORNIA (BNO NEWS) -- A state-wide Amber Alert was issued on early Tuesday morning after a young girl was abducted in Fresno, California, police said.

According to police in Fresno, a city in central California, an unidentified man was seen trying to lure several children into his pickup truck in the area of 2807 E. Hammond Avenue. When the children wouldn't get into his truck, he reached out and grabbed one child.

That child was identified as Eliza Cardenaz, an 8-year-old Hispanic girl. She is approximately 4 feet tall, weighs about 60 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a light purple sweater with Winnie the Pooh on front and light blue jeans.

The suspect is described as an either white or light-skinned Hispanic male, being possibly around 25 years old. He is believed to be around 6 feet tall, weighing around 200 pounds with either combed back hair or bald. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and blue jeans.

The suspect was last seen driving a 1980's or 90's model Ford single cab pickup, possibly brown and/or red with a white pin stripe on the side with an unknown license plate number.

Because Fresno is not far from Nevada and as they do not know where the suspect is heading, police decided to issue a state-wide Amber Alert. Police in Western Nevada have also issued an Amber Alert for the girl.

"The police say the little girl does not know this man, so there is a lot of concern," the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to call the Fresno Police Department at (559) 621-700, the Nevada Highway Patrol at (775) 687-0400 or 911.
