ahollenbeck
I have been in Thailand for a year on a category F visa. My visa expires November 1, but I am planning on staying until December 22nd. Suggestions on the cheapest/best way to extend it? I'm living in Mae Sot, and 5 border runs to Mae Sai is not an option. Should I get a 60-day tourist visa in Malaysia on November 1? Or try for a 90-day visa somewhere sooner? I'll be volunteering but probably won't be able to get any paperwork for a non-immigrant visa and I'm willing to go abroad (preferably Malaysia) for a short trip. Help, visa masters!!! lopburi3
Any work will be illegal on a tourist visa but it appears that is all you will qualify for.
PoorSucker
Volunteer work requires a non-Immigrant visa and a work permit. It seems that if you can't get the paperwork then a tourist visa is the only option.
Xircal
You're not that far away from the Thai embassy in Yangon. Why would you want to go all the way to Malaysia?
