Can anyone tell me , or give me a link to what a wife can take when she goes to Australia with a partner visa.IE computer, tools?

How about anything not prohibited or restricted by Australian Customs.

I took a girl back to Oz on a fiance visa (had to marry within 6 months) and Qantas gave her double baggage as she was considered to be immigrating. From memory it was 40 kg in stead of 20 kg

Might be worth asking your airline.

I'd suggest that any personal stuff, especially if second hand, would be OK.

Why not check with the Aussie consul?

Brought my wife over three years ago and they didnt do the extra baggage then, they had stopped it. That was with Thai Airways.

As Bridge has suggested, look at the Oz Customs website, that will tell you all you need to know.
