Chinese Fly Into London

Featured Replies

Just picked up a bit of news today regarding Chinese visitors (tourists)arriving in the UK.

Its seems that after all these years the Chinese Government has granted Britain "Approved Destination Statu" which nows allows the opportunity for Chinese Nationeals to travel here on tour groups.

Suppose its a bit similar to say the US giving the go ahead for their folks swanning off on a jolly to Cuba :D

One old boy Mr Howard (chinese) aretired doc had been waiting 65 years to visit blighty and made the comment."Its importent for us to show support for the british people"..."I am not afraid..the chances of being blown up in London is about the same as being run over by a bus" :D

"Visit- britain" predicts 250,000 tourists from China a year by 2010.

Top attractions stated were.....Oxford ,Stratford,Liverpool/Man Un football grounds and.....a wee dram in a Whisky Distillery..... :D

Lots more airlines are expected on the run...Bei-Shangers.....hopefully via C.M :o

When 500 chinese tourists (en masse) decide to walk straight across The Mall. Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street or the M1, I am quite sure this will become ever so more likely to happen ! !

:o:D

I am sure that they would be Ok since they will all be wearing identical beany hats and carrying bright RED beach towels :D

On more interesting point the old thingy about the "Dragon Waking up etc"seems true since its reconed/forcast that with all their new emerging wealth etc..by the year 2020 (yea I know stats and damm lies ...but) there is an estimate/potential tourist boom of something over 100,000,000 Chinese all going on holiday each year.

Just to cater for that lot from a standing start is gonna mean ...what... an extra 10,000 jumbo jets :D

Futures bright the future is or could be.......red.....(o dear dear...wot the :o )

Like the sound of that new wee train set they have just built in Shangers .....Airport to Downtown in 7 minutes for £3 at 400 miles an hour (maglev).....need same to Suwanna...... :D

Heaven help them when they get off of their China Eastern, Air China and Virgin flights at Terminal 3. Wifey was on TG916 a couple of weeks ago and it was chaos both for passengers and picker uppers. At one point they stopped passengers coming out due to the congestion outside. It took nearly half an hour to get out of the car park. The previous flight she had to wait in baggage reclaim as there were no trollies available. Welcome to Britain.

heartfelt sympathies. i have a problem with the mainland chinese myself, always ask to change seats if placed too near them on the plane and switch cues if they are in front at immigration. my secret air travel strategy involves actively avoiding mainlanders to maximise peace and minimise irritation.
