I personally think they are the most annoying thing about pattaya, especially when it happens late at night, you never know how long it will last. You never know how many mossies are going to feast on you. Sometimes it is literally on off on off on off on off on, other times it might be off for upto 6 hours. The annoying thing is you never know when and for how long. Would be good to know if their is any particular which suffers more than others and if anyone knows the reason why.

how often do you have power cuts ?
Depends on when it happens. :D
  where are you ?

I'm here.

what do you do when you have a power cut ?
Sit in the dark sweating and swearing.
does anyone know the reason for these power cuts ?

The electric goes off. :o

First sit in front of a shut down computer hoping I saved the work I was doing then I decide to f.uck it off and watch tv, realising the tv doesn't work either I decide to have a shower and get out for the day, after realising there is no hot water and I cant shower and go out I decide I might as well have lunch and a cup of tea and grab a book, before I truly realise how important electricity is in my life and just poke my head out of the appartment door shouting down the corridor to the other tenants in my building

"is your electric off as well? yeah, mine too"

I genrally tut a few times and shake my head a bit then go back into my room and sit sweating until it comes back on.

I hope that was comprehensive enough for you dude. It happens just like that every f.ucking time. :o

i'm much the same but get paranoid about some mossie feasting on me, and paranoid when i look across the road to discover they still have electricity. I often end up outside watching the lights across the road whilst doing a strange dance to keep the mossies off me

Just had one 40 mins ago, I lost 2 hrs of work on the computer.... :o

Quite often on the computer myself when the power goes.

Is their backup power packs avalible that will at least give you chance to save unfinished work and close windows etc ????

Why don't you guys that work on a computer invest in a UPS. They are not expensive, will give you five to ten minutes of power, long enough to save any work you have done. They also protect you from surges when the power is on.

Third world was a bit strong.

Slow developing could be better

But I Suggest you have a look, away from the bright lights of

The city’s and tourist resorts. Then tell me what you see.

Have a nice day. :D

I have a UPS unit... Works like a treat :o Also a nice source of light when a power cut happens at night.

Ohh I'm a poet and I don't even know it.

How much would one of these UPS units cost and where can i get hold of one.

You don't like power cuts?

Get a solar power system.

Available for around 170000 baht plus 25000 installation plus VAT. Enough power for your computer(s), fridge, some fans, some lights. 365 x 24. No power cuts anymore.

European stuff, the panels last at least 25 years, the batteries you need to change every 7 to 10 years.

So don't complain, wake up and get your own power!

And yes, I've seen it working, impressive.
