Dozens trapped underground after mine accident in central China

YUZHOU, CHINA (BNO NEWS) -- More than 30 miners are trapped underground after a gas outburst hit a coal mine in central China on early Saturday morning, state-run media reported.

The accident happened at around 6 a.m. local time at a coal mine owned by Pingyu Coal & Electric Co. Ltd. in Yuzhou City of central China's Henan Province.

The state-run Xinhua news agency reported that rescue operations were underway, but did not immediately provide other details.
