Foreign Minister Arrested (or Should Be)

Featured Replies

Foreign Minister Kantathi Suphamongkhon being interviewed before being taken off to jail for gross distortion of reality.

From one article:

Thailand says situation in south is stabilizing Thailand

Thailand says violence in its southern provinces has stabilized and is not expected to be raised during regional security talks this week.

The country's foreign minister made the statement at the ASEAN foreign minsiter's meeting in Laos.

From another article published the SAME day:

Ten killed in Thai south in worst violence for months

YALA, Thailand (AFP) - At least 10 people have been killed in the deadliest 48 hours of violence in restive southern Thailand since February, police said.

Maybe his statement was correct.

"violence in its southern provinces has stabilized"

Stabilized at ten dead per day

He didn't say it was good just that it was stable

Luckily for him, the other day BBC had to abruptly cut his interview on Burma's Asean chair, because they moved over to a breaking news story. Saved him from making a fool of himself. :o

Very astute observation, Theytim (as usual)... :D

Perhaps, if it continues for much longer, there won't be enough Southerners left to warrant trying to rectify the situation.

Don't forget that's "DR. Thaksin with an American-obtained PhD".....

hahaha hohoho hahahaha

He's so close to Elmer Fudd in his speech and mannerisms and appearance, it's scary....

:o

Conversely, I caught part of former PM Anand's speech delivered partly in English...and he came off as a very intelligent and eloquent speaker of English.

Polar opposites in philosophy and bilingual skills.

Shhh. Be vewy vewy quiet. I'm hunting wabbits.

I'm sure it's just coincidence that these 2 characters have never been seen together at the same time...

then again... one "could" refer to Thailand as "Looney Tunes".... :D:o

No, No, this time it was the foreign minister being interviewed in Vientiane. Just as he started waxing eloquent on how Burma has made leaps and strides to achieve a democracy worthy of being an Asean member, BBC cut to breaking news about heavy rainfall in India. :o

No, it's an older one. He had just been informed that 73 Southern protestors had died after being loaded like cattle for slaughter in Tak Bai.

Let's not forget that insurgency is, basically, all about "our Illustriuos leader", well the Thais, (before any of you "too quick to correct types swamp the board")...

there was virtually no violence during the Chuan Leekpai, Chawalit Yongchaiyuth and Banharm Silipa-Archa days which preceded Thaksin's reign of terror!

Well - at least for the poor souls who have to live there and endure this violence on a day-by-day basis.

Kill scores of innocent Muslims at Tak Bai and you have a generation of blood letting!
