News_Editor
Bomb blast kills three in western Afghanistan 2010-10-18 13:56:50 GMT+7 (ICT) KABUL (BNO NEWS) -- A bomb blast killed at least three people in the western Afghan city of Herat on Monday, officials said. Naqeebullah Arween, a local spokesperson, said an improvised explosive device exploded near a police checkpoint killing three people and wounded eight including a police officer. Arween did not provide more details. Herat has not seen major Taliban violence in last months but major military operations have been carried out in the province in the last weeks. Afghan and coalition forces targeted on October 14 a Taliban senior leader responsible for attacks against coalition forces, as well as kidnapping operations, killing several insurgents in a joint operation. The Taliban has not claimed responsibility for Monday's attack. -- © BNO News All rights reserved 2010-10-
