TOT, TMB to Assist Flood Victims

TOT and TMB has joined hands to provide communication and financial aid for flood victims in the upper parts of the Kingdom.

Telecommunications giant TOT and army run bank TMB have joined forces to deliver aid via telephone communication and money.

Poompairtip Eamsopa, TOT's Executive Vice President Marketing and Product Development, stated that the flooding situation has a widespread effect on the whole country, including TOT's service stations and phone signals in the inundated areas.

She said that she will dispatch staff to fix flood ravaged stations and estimate damages so that the flood victims can have outside communication access as soon as possible.

Poompairtip went on to say that the communication network is likely to be back to normal once the flood is over.

She added that she will assign TOT's local executives to provide free drinking water and other survival packages to affected residents.

TMB's Executive Vice President Head of Transactional Group, Patchanee Vongsilpawattana, said that she is waiting for the reports on damage from each area where TMB branches are located.

To address the hardship of flood victims, she said that TMB has already launched a Business Continuity Plan or BCP to meet the demands of clients in trouble.

She went on to say that TMB has allowed customers to pay TOT bills at TMB's cash machines and those who have TMB credit cards can pay TMB bills through TOT's “Just Pay” system as well.

She anticipated that TMB will have a 10 percent share of transactions of TOT's clients.
