1)If you're in Bangkok, there's 'TestCar' which is independent and won't give a recommendation whether to buy the car or not. Google it for details.

2) Testcar might be too much detail - the dealer could be more suitable and certainly cheaper.

3) I think buying second-hand is risky due to improper maintanance/servicing, third-party repairs, generic parts, but if the seller lets you do a test, that builds trust and is important.

4) Buying certified used from the dealer might offer benefits of a longer 1-year warranty and nation-wide options, like Toyota has 'Sure' and Chevrolet has 'OK' for example.
