Ain't no professional here but well,

Seems to me like the article's about water exchange between Catfish and Nile Tilapia.

Used water from rearing Catfish is to pain to dispose of since it affects rice. Many Catfish farmers in NE Thailand dispose of it into neighboring paddy fields affecting fruiting of the rice plants.

This waste water however, is good at producing phytoplankton which is beneficial to Nile Tilapias; which when grown in the same pond will require lesser cost so farmers gain an extra crop to sell while solving a disposal problem.

One stone two birds mate.

It's a proposal for a simplistic university study between two schools.

Not necessarily ever done, this is just the proposal.

The method works of course,

the parameters are all in very safe even boring territory

it's just silly to propose a study be done on it.

I had a large pond heavily stocked with Pangasius catfish.

There were black Tilapia breeding before I got there

so they continued to breed by the millions

when the catfish feed brought an algae bloom.

The huge benefit was Catfish eating baby Tilapia

for a long time after I stopped dumping bulk feed.

The whole pond system continued to operate on residual nutrient load

But do you think this would work to rid the pond of a lot of waste removal. I think this is an importat consideration in my experimaent with fish.

Also did you get my email address to send the spreadsheet about irrigation to.

All the best
