Kenya Airways Introduces Non-Stop Service to Bangkok

NAIROBI: -- Kenya Airways, popularly known as KQ, is to introduce a new non-stop service between Bangkok and the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, from next September 4th, it was learnt.

According to a press release, the new service is the first and only direct link between Thailand and Kenya, and will also simplify travel to many other East African countries, including Tanzania and Uganda.

The launch of Kenya Airways services to Bangkok is in response to market demand for direct and reliable services between Asia Pacific and Africa. KQ is also inaugurating a thrice a week return service between Bangkok and Hong Kong.

“After all the recent downturn in the Asian travel industry we are proud to be the first airline to announce a new service from Africa to Thailand in 2003,” said Mr. Titus Naikuni, Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

“Kenya Airways operations to Bangkok will improve business relations between Asia Pacific and Africa. There are immense investment opportunities in Africa and the continent’s many attractive tourist facilities will now be directly accessible to people in Asia,” said Mr. Naikuni.

...well..what better occasion making a safari???

and flying Kenya Airways means, you can collect miles at your KLM's FLYING DUTCHMAN frequent flyer program, cause they are partner of that. Kenya Airways flies from BKK to HK too, by the way, and the rates are competitive....

Let's hope the pilots have a better grasp of time than the CEO.

well, Lopburi, this is just another dimension of delays in LOS, arent we used to that already ? :o

Kinda confused. I flew with them from Kigali, Rwanda(share code with Rwandair Express) to Bangkok with a stopover in Nairobi last year. It was already a direct flight back then?!

But non-stop from Nairobi to Bangkok? If so perhaps the 2003 date is right and the press report got dusted off?

In May , I flew from Nairobi-Bangkok ( on Kenya Air) with flight onwards to Hong Kong. On the new B777-200ER seat number 1A. It was a wonderful flight. 1.45 hrs ahead of schedule, new plane, great service and lots more. Flew down to Mombasa which is the place to be in my opinion. Just making plans to return in late Oct. Tusker Beer and all the exotic and domestics meats grilled up. Loads of fun. Thumbs up on the airline, crew and aircraft on Kenya Air. :o Tusker Beer !:D
