Floods In The South And Transport Effects.

Featured Replies

Firstly, appologies for posting in two forums but I didn't know which is the more appropriate one to post in and I need the info fairly urgently so wanted to maximise the number of people that read this. That said, here goes...

Does anyone know if, with all the floods in the south, the train from Butterworth (Malaysia) to BKK is running or if there is any other overland option in light of the floods?

I need to get back to BKK this coming week and flights are too expensive for my budget really, especially when I came all the way to Langkawi for less than 1000BHT and now to get back home flying is looking like 3500BHT! That's more than I've spent since being in Malaysia!

Any help/info/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Once again, appologies for the double post but thankyou eternally to any info anyone can give me.

Try to call one of these numbers Tel : 0-2222-0175, 0-2621-8701, 0-2220-4567 for Thai Railways.

Operation between hat Yai and Nakorn have been stopped but I think they are back in operation.

Thanks for the numbers but the first one is a fax. The second one is ok, I made contact and the trains are running normally now.

I think you meant to say "the trains were stopped but ..."
