BOGOTA, COLOMBIA (BNO NEWS) -- Colombian military forces on Monday killed 13 FARC rebels in air strikes near the Ecuadorian border, officials said.

In addition, two rebel soldiers were injured and soldiers located and arrested them. The aerial attack took place at a camping site in Ipiales, in southwest Colombia near the Ecuadorian border, the country's Defense Department said in a statement.

One of the arrested individuals is an underage Ecuadorian national.

After the aerial attack, soldiers from the Colombian army entered the area and recovered the bodies. Soldiers also seized five rifles, a machine gun and a rocket launcher, as well as documents related to the FARC's activities.

There were approximately 35 FARC members in the camp which was allegedly controlled by the 48th front, led by "Euclides" and dedicated to drug trafficking activities.

Colombian authorities said that the front is responsible for the transport of around 25 tons of cocaine to Central America and Europe.

Local police forces and the military are still in the area continuing the search efforts.
