What a joke! On the flimsiest of evidence 3 judges create a precedence that is likely to cost the Commonwealth many millions of dollars and allow supposed part Aussie people a free entry into Oz.

I have legally adopted twin girls who have been the love of my life for the past 12 years yet my (NZ) government will not consider any citizenship rights for them because Thailand did not sign The Hague Convention on adoption until 3 months after I was granted legal adoption here. I can say it was a very strict process as I was told in no uncertain terms when we started the adoption, which eventually took 2 years, that Thailand was adhering to strict international principles after many years of being very loose with their adoptions. If my children want citizenship they will have to go through a costly & time consuming process.

So no point in making sweeping generalizations as not very case is the same.
