North Koreans unveil new, secret plant for nuclear use

2010-11-21 09:34:11 GMT+7 (ICT)

NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) -- North Korea has unveiled a vast new facility it secretly and rapidly built to enrich uranium, according to the New York Times on late Saturday evening, showing further evidence that the country is preparing to expand its nuclear arsenal.

The New York Times reported that North Korea had shown the facility to Siegfried S. Hecker, a Stanford professor who in the past directed the Los Alamos National Laboratory. He said he was 'stunned' by the sophistication of the new plant, where he saw 'hundreds and hundreds' of centrifuges that had recently been installed.

Minutes before the New York Times published its story, the U.S. State Department announced that Ambassador Stephen Bosworth, the Special Representative for North Korea Policy, has left Washington, D.C. to discuss 'North Korean issues' with South Korea, Japan and China.

The U.S. State Department said he and an interagency delegation will arrive in Seoul on Sunday. They will then travel to Tokyo on Monday and depart for Beijing on Tuesday.

Of all countries that need a spanking, the world ignores these idiots, hopefully the soon to be in charge son will redirect the goals of the military.

I wouldn't hold my breath. My guess is that the military will control the son, not the other way around.

bomb the bastards

:jap:

And what if North Korea manages to launch a couple of its nuclear armed missiles and they land in Seoul or Tokyo? How will you deal with the injured people? What if North Korea launches a retaliatory invasion into South Korea? Would you be willing to go and put your life on the line to help the South Koreans, or would you just expect some 19 year old farm kid from the USA to do that? I suppose that would provide another chance for the usual nasties in TVF to blame the USA for something and keep the loonies occupied. What if a bomb you wanted dropped does work, but it puts up a nuclear debris cloud in North Korea such that it reaches the upper atmosphere and is disbursed by the wind over North America and Europe?

The only solution is to have China stop supporting North Korea. China will not do that because it is terrified of the prospect of millions upon millions of Norh Korean refugees. As well, having North Korea around means that Japan and South Korea have to invest billions into defense and not the economy. If South Korea and Japan's industrial sector was even stronger, China wouldn't be supplying the Walmarts with all the cheap crap that breaks within a day or so. It would be Mitsubishi and Hyundai supplying quality goods that last.

Don't ask for bombs and war as the ramifications are too grim. Radiation burns, starvation, decaying bodies, ravaged ecosystems etc. are to be avoided, even if it means tolerating psychotic prison states.
