Hi,

I am curious if anyone has succeeded recently

in getting a 3-entry tourist visa out of the

Consulate General in Los Angeles, CA?

I got one from them successfully in 2003 and 2004

but now notice their website says "no multiple-

entry" in their description of tourist visas.

This could just be a slipup or they could

just be trying to scare off the crowds,

not sure.

Secondly, I have seen some recent threads

on this group about UK folks who got a non-O

from Hull based on "visiting friends and relatives

in Thailand," with only a simple letter of financial

guarantee. Has anyone tried to pull of this amazing

trick anywhere inside the USA? Where?

I am <50yrs old, not married, and not employed,

so that would be my only other possibility.

If possible, it would beat the socks off of a

3-entry tourist visa.

If you download the forms for the Non o visa on line and send all they ask for Photo 125.00 Fee Passport Ect Ect you won't have a problem sending to Denver NOTE the App asks for a support letter but in denver they seem to not care as I and 4 or 5 friends have not included this and they still Issued the non o Visa. Mine in fact was sent Express mail from SF to denver on Monday 4 PM and returned to me Wed 11 AM same week very fast !! Don't even think about LA as it won't happen.

Here is the email I got back from the denver Consul

I will need the following to process your Visa request

- Passport

- Visa Application

- 1 Passport Photo

- Money Order for $125 made payable to DW Ringsby

- If applying by mail, a SASE (Express Mail preferred)

You can download the application form at www.thaiembdc.org.

Note she asked for no Letter From a Thai Company so I sent it off yesterday. I have had 4 friends get this visa from the Denver office with out a problem.

Good luck !!

This is a tough one I tell you. I have heard about people getting this non-O visa and numerous being turned down flat. I will await to hear how it goes. That would be a great solution for a whole lot of people. I often wonder why sp few people under 50 not employed get this visa if it were a piece of cake to do

Jan is the contact person in Denver it has never been a problem getting this in Denver When I sent her my Doc's for the Non O Visa I sent along a copy of the email she sent to me stating what was needed and as you see in my last post no mention of Letter of invatation or support. If you do a search on Denver here on the board you will see other members had the same story.

One more thing when she sent me the email outlineing what I needed to send her I wanted to be sure about not needing the letter of support. So I emailed her back and asked her if I indeed did not need it well she never got back to me with a yes you do or no you don't That's when I thought it would be a good Idea to send a copy of her email

to me letting her know I sent her everything she asked for and like the others it worked like a charm.

By The Way I had just turned 49 so the 50 yr thing mattered not also.

And yet another thing after I posted on the board abour how easy it was to get through Denver I got a PM from another member saying I should Keep it quite as it might make it tougher in the future for getting this from Denver but I thought about that and I think it is more important to help fellow board members than to keep it under my hat had it not been for other members I would still be in Califorina working 9 to 5.

Wow, this is great news!

Ok, so if the fee was $125 it must have been a

multiple-entry non-immigrant visa, right?

But what TYPE of non-immigrant visa? Was it

a B visa (for business)? Type O (for visiting family?)

Something else? Do you need to specify this

type when you apply?

How do you actually use this visa? Since it is

a non-immigrant visa, I gather you have to

do something every 90 days right? Do you

have to leave the country or just go to an

immigration office? As far as you know can

you get 15 months out of this visa (by making

your last action just before it expires)?

Thanks much!

Let me re-phrase this sub-question: from the

earlier posts it seems like it is an O visa, but

what reason should I tell the consolate for

granting me an O visa? Or do I need to tell

them anything beyond "I would like a

multiple-entry non-immigrant O visa"?

The other sub-questions from my post

also still apply...

thanks!

Each county, or the Thai consulates in every country, seem to have differently designed forms but they all ask for "purpose of stay".

http://www.thai-consulate.ch/visaform.pdf

What would happen if you left that line blank? I guess they would get back to you about it.

The Washington DC consulate site has some suggested purposes,

http://www.thaiembdc.org/consular/visa/vis...e%20&%20purpose

but I'm sure others are also acceptable, like "visiting friends" (they masy ask you for the names of your friends, but from what I've read in this thread, not the Denver Consulate)

Perhaps you need to think a bit more about it. To think this board isn't monitored by Immigration is naive. To think that this deal will continue unchecked and unchallenged and unchanged is naive. To think that we are obligated to "help fellow board members" without question is naive, particularly those that attempt to obfuscate other Thai laws in their other posts as well as are too inept/lazy to search the topic (which is well-documented) on here is naive. But so be it, you have chosen to do so. Just don't expect it to be a good deal indefinitely for you, your friends, or other more-deserving "fellow members."

It doesn't hurt to be a bit selective in deciding who to help as others more deserving who are further away from 50 may wish to use this option in the years ahead, perhaps even some of your younger associates and friends. The information has already been posted previously. If someone can't find it, then they aren't looking, but it certainly doesn't help if this option is removed due to over-exposure. Generally speaking, I would think that the persons asking for information previously covered on topics are the same ones who perhaps aren't the better examples of who is deserving to reap the benefit. Additionally, it doesn't hurt to review someone's posts when they ask for help to get a clearer picture of who exactly you are "helping."

Try to look at the bigger picture... :o

Hi There,

Ive been searching through the posts looking for detailed info on the Denver Consulate. It seems to be the friendliest and fastest for obtaining visas. With what I have been reading I may be eligable for a NI O Visa? At the very least I need a multiple or double entry. My question is, should I call the consulate and ask for the contact person or send an email. I plan on coming over for 6 mos. My flight leaves 5/10/06 and I have an open ended ticket. Im not sure what to say in my , am I to be honest (that I would like to look for work)...or tell them I am there to visit friends, extented travel...ect? I am 43yrs old, have been to Thailand every year for 6 yrs and am an American. I have searched all the post that include the Denver consulate..they seem to be the friendliest and fastest. If you have any advice it would be appreciated. Feel free to PM me if needed. Thank you so much.... :o

I wouldn't think of telling 'em that you are looking for work. Looking at Thai culture is a better reason and will get you a Multi O at Denver. Don't even think about LA. You'll find them way too hard to deal with.

Thank you very much Dr. Pong, I appreciate the feedback. I plan on contacting them tomorrow, hope all goes well. If you have any other words of wisdom, feel free to throw it out there...Thanks again... :o
