Uk Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Me and the girlfriend want her to come over to the UK for Christmas. I've just returned from Thailand in September after 4 months there during my uni holidays.

Proving our relationship and her reasons to come back is fine, since she has uni also that she is already enrolled for the next term. 1 thing that I can't remember exactly though is about the financial side of the visa.

Since her mum sponsors her, I'm just wondering what would be a good amount of money for her mum to say she can allow my girlfriend. I'm thinking 30 000 baht will be plenty (not including money for tickets, also she will be staying in my family's home). I want to be absolutely clear in our visa application like I've done the last 3 successful times - the only reason I'm asking is because I forgot how much we showed for her visa application last year and that a lot of the old stuff we used is on my broken laptop.

So, if her mum allows her say, 30 000 baht, should that be fine for a 1 month trip? Also, if her mum has plenty of money left over in her bank, does it matter if she provides a document to prove she is working? Reason I ask is because previously she was working in a company, now they have their own family business.

Thanks
