Retirement Visa

Recommended Posts

hi, this question is for my dad, he qualifies for a retirement visa, now he would like to know is it possible to

get a retirement visa with multiple entries so he does not need to get re entry permits every time he leaves

thailand as he travels often?

also now he has an non-o which runs out in may does he need to apply for the retirement visa in holland

or can he do it at immigration?

thanks in advance

rick

Apply for the Retirement Extension (not a visa) at Immigration. 1,900 Baht fee. Apply any time within the final 30 days of permision to stay.

He can get a Multi Re Entry Permit for a fee of 3,800 Baht.

thanks for the quick response, the multiple re-entry permit is how long is it valid for?

thanks

12 months if you apply at the same time as you apply for your extension or for the period the extension is still valid.

Tell your father to convert the none 'O' visa first to a retirement visa (1900 baht) once that's done he can apply to have a multi entry stamp (3800 baht)to run alongside the retirement visa.

It only becomes an extension of stay on your second application for renewal in one years time.

Wrong.

He already has a Non Imm O Visa. He will apply for an extension of stay within 30 days of any permision to stay expiry.

You cant convert the Non O to a "retirement visa". You can apply for an extension based on retirement in the last 30 days of the current permission to stay.

That's what I did. It doesn't only become an extension of stay on your second application, it is an extension of stay when you first apply.

You beat me to it LB

What? He's wouldn't be converting anything and it's not a visa, he's simply extending his permission to stay, even the first time.

Sorry for a redundant post, you guys beat me to it.
