Official survives suicide attack in southern Pakistan

BALOCHISTAN, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- Chief Minister of Balochistan Aslam Raisani on Tuesday survived a suicide attack against his motorcade in which one person died and 9 people were injured in southern Pakistan, local media reported.

The attack targeted Raisani's motorcade at Sariab Road crossing in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province. As a result ten people were injured and one of them died shortly after due top the wounds sustained.

Four of the individuals injured were officials of the Chief Minister’s security squad. The suicide attack took place as Raisani was on his way to the Provincial Assembly.

The attacker died in the explosion. Authorities recovered a head and legs of an unidentified person and believe that are the remains of the terrorist.

Authorities have not ruled out other possibilities than a suicide attack and the investigation is ongoing.
