Hi there

I'm about to get an iPad.

I told a friend who's had one a while that I would go for the largest drive, 64gb.

He said he only uses about 8gb of his 32gb because he constantly uploads to a cloud.

I've done a quick search without success.

How does this work?

Can it be free?

You can do it for example with dropbox. They have 2 GB free.

Paying options go to 100 GB

Look on Google to find their website.Very informative.

Google gives you 10GB, Windows Live gives you 10gb, all for free.

Thankyou all for your help(s).

I've tried googling for google cloud, but only get a service for developers.

Could you point me in the right direction?

For both, you just need to sign up for one of the free email accounts. With Windows, get a email such as [email protected] or [email protected], etc. You automatically get 10gb on a Skydrive account for documents and photos.

For Google, get [email protected] and you get Google Docs to upload, along with Picasa Web. You may need an invite to sign up. If you do, PM me your email and I can send you an invite.

Thankyou kindly Floridaguy

but I have a gmail acct and I tried uploading to documents last night with some success.

Some?

Well I couldn't drag photos from iPhoto or MP#s from iTunes, but was OK with pictures left on my desktop and normal text files and PDFs and so on.

I shall try further.

Thanks

John
