I filled my pool with city water, when there was still enough pressure :o .

Normally the slowest, but the easiest because it's already chlorinated.

It'll stay pretty much clear when you add your own chlorine after filling up.

Filling up by trucks is the second preffered method, but quality depends on where they get their water from.

If from a reservoir, or a big pond, the water will turn instantly green after you add chlorine (the algea dying/oxidizing from the chlorine). With the correct chemicals and a couple of days nonstop filtering and vacuming the bottom you'll get it clear!

If the truck sources its water from a well it can go either way. Never problems with algae (not enough oxigen down in a well for them), but it might be high in iron content.

This iron will be in soluble form, being invisible to the eye. Until when you add chlorine, then the water will turn instantly dark red/brown caused by the iron oxidizing.

When this happens its best to pump the water straight out again.

You might be able to filter it out, but the iron settling down on the bottom will stain the white grout between the tiles! Very hard to get them clean again...

I dont know where you are in Thailand but i know of 2 pools filled here in kanchanaburi that were filled by the fire service, they were slipped a few Baht and hey presto the big red trucks turn up and fill up your pool. Other than that the local water company will have trucks that will be able to supply you with water. Not sure on costs though.

Why do you think it will break your pump.

Check out the prices for a simple water pump with no pressure regulator. Tesco prices start at 1350 baht.

This might be cheaper than buying the water and you still have the pump

Actually I don´t dare to take ground-water as I don´t know where the waste water flows to.To call the fire service would be a good idea,I´ll try that.
