Thailand Network Problem....

Featured Replies

hello...

right now(since past 1 hour) ive pulled out a lot of my hair...

i am unable to connect to yahoo.com, msn.com, msn messenger, yahoo messenger, microsoft.com...

i am able to browse thru suns website...when i click on the final download button i again get a DNS error....or a network error....

this has been confirmed from various locations...

1) my home....using true 2.5 mbps/512 kbps

2) my office....using true 1mbps/512 kbps

3) my pocket PC.....using DTAC wifi...not sure which ISP they use for their gateway....

is it just me or others also......

pls reply if others r also facing this problem....so i can stop pulling out more hair ;-)

now msn has become an integral part of our business...its not working n ppl here r repeatedly pushing me to solve this issue...

do you think true(or whoever is guilty) is entitled to a public statement regarding this?

yes yahoo, hotmail not responding but... gmail still working

Same here from my Chiangmai University account. Some sites no problems at all, eg. Bangkpost.com and cnn.com but yahoo times out. Actually been off and on like this for a couple of days. I figured it was due to heavy traffic at the uni from the students (science fair going on now) now not sure why.

Gmail timing out but Yahoo! is working okay for me.

A mixture with other sites, some including Thai Visa and ABC News Australia slow to load, others just timing out, network errors etc.

Using True basic ADSL on the outskirts of Bangkok, usually pretty good.

have problem too , must be from the cable

same here - everything has slowed right down

have the same problem with TOT.

Thailand, the IT center of Asia LOL

looks like my yahoos are up and running again (hotmails still not responding though) and yes I'm also with True Adsl 952Bht/mo thingy in BKK

here true home package, samut prakarn, nothing working!

been having the same problems on and off with CSLox for the last few months :o

Same with me, been like it for 10 days.

Looks like an abovenet problem

Go to network-tools.com and type in the domain name that you can't access.

All of mine eventually end up going through abovenet network

Others don't have a problem

from msn and ICQ ...

but at least ... all my SSH-Sessions always keep up ;-)

i notice in the morning since arround 3 months big connection -problems

to US and Europe destinations ...

guess its a local-thailand-peering problem (all use same .... )

better have some housing-system in sg with vpn to .th ;-)

because th -> sg and sg -> *.* always work great ..

Only partly! Still no connection to Austria or CZ.

yeah....many sites r still not operational....

need a lot of googling to do...looking for some scripts....most of the sites dont open up.....

but atleast the messenger is up.....

messenger not workin felt like i got stranded on an uninhabited island!!!

that's fairly bad that an entire network craps itself. my connection also was not working until 11:30, drove me nuts, some stuff was working then MSN messenger wouldn't work, then the internet died completely with DNS server error.

arg.

but working now, and nothing really can be done about it except bitching and moaning to make ourselves feel better.

:o

now it looks good, ups I mean not so bad.....

I can open all pages I need.

Now I must read internet newspaper in turbo-speed, because noone know how long the internet is working

There have been at least two threads already reporting that CAT (the mailmen) are working on the old undersea cable (the only one they chose to be a part of) until the 20th (started as until the 15th) and that there will be outages. We have had a very in/out morning today.

Same ole stuff

:D

The new virus is jamming up some, I ran a open end ping to see how many users are on True ADSL and found the share is overloaded. Must be game time? Still a mumber of servers are infected again... SOS :o

Thailand, the hub of downtime.

no no email, again!

We now consider to change our company communication to "carrier pigeons". Well proved technologie.

Just sent 2 carrier pigeons to Europe and 3 to USA.

Where I can buy a supersonic kit for my pigeons?

I noticed sites we're not resolving so I changed my DNS servers settings to a server outside Thailand and everything came up after that. I've since switched back because whatever the problem was seems to have been fixed.

I am sure those idiots are running their authentification servers and DNS servers out of Windows 2000 boxes. There is a virus outbreak out there :o

NS Servers

well most stablest in thailand is "paino.asianet.co.th" [203.144.255.71]

accessable from all ipranges ...

i provide a few machines in us and germany

"ux2.turkmetro.net" [212.227.164.22]

.US

"ns.rn.us.0x8.in.th" [208.11.75.3]
