Insurance/Registration

Featured Replies

Im leaving Thailand for 3 months, and tried to sell my Vigo with no reasonable offers. I still owe the bank 50% of the purchase price, so I will continue to make the payments on it, but the insurance and registration expire in January. What happens if I allow the registration and insurance to lapse? Am I breaking any laws as long as the car is garaged and not driven?

Not braking any laws as long as not used on public road

but there is a late penalty fee, an angry finance company, and non insured car

Thanks for the reply. Why angry finance company? I will continue to make the payments to them.

insurance is payed directly to insurance company after 1st year, but road tax is payed to financecompany. IOW late roadtax is late payment, and if its a 4 door thats 6800 baht (pluss VAT as I recall)

And to pay the road tax you need to have at least the compulsory insurance paid for and to show finance.
