Dutchman6 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I've never used a locksmith before but would like to know what I'm up against when I lose my keys. Can a locksmith pick my lock for me without damaging the door or the lock? What do they charge? Where do I find a good one and are there any 24/7 services available?

Dutchman6 Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 Can they also open up expensive locks with keys you can't copy? Let's say the 2500thb locks from Home Pro. Also I rarely carry a phone so I need an address of a good locksmith in Central Pattaya.
Basil B Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Most locks are pick-able, though there are some which would be beyond the average locksmith but I have not seen any in Thailand. But to be honest most locksmiths will probably find other easier ways to get in. this is what I use for home http://www.cisa.com/EN/products/cylindersandkeys/reversible%20key%20type/Pages/AstralS.aspx virtually unpickable with 10 tumblers on the face of the key instead of the edge, also resistant to bumping and snapping, also if you want replacement keys you can only get from the manufacturer who will only supply with security number.

Basil B Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 May be a good business opportunity for some one, a 24/7 key minding service. Offer to hold spare key, on receipt of password send key via motor bike taxi.
