Good Guest House Right Now ?

Sawasdee Khrup, TV CM Friends,

Two Lady friends have arrived earlier than expected, and are looking for a reasonable guest house for a perhaps 3-5 days stay.

Most desireable:

1. quiet at night

2. not a guest house where typical residents are farang males are bringing "temporary overnight nurses."

3. Air-con not necessary.

We've warned our friends that is the time when CM starts being flooded with Thais tourists as well as Farangs, so we understand rates may be higher this week, bookings more difficult,

thanks, ~o:37;

with that understood ..... they may find a room at this brand new place at 699 a night or more ?

good luck ... dave2

I always used to stay a Lai Thai as it was close to the Night Bazaar etc - aircon, sat TV (English Language movies etc), pool, restaurant, nice rooms, hot water, car/bike hire, room service etc - they used to be cheap, but have become quite popluar over the years, so are less likely to do deals now (especially during peak). There are quite a few farangs with airport pick-ups coming in from Swampy, but the rooms have good sound proofing - pool attracts families too and Thais so not a short-time haunt at all. Haven't stayed there for a couple of years now (last time was one night between house moves 2 years ago), so info may be dated. Also do not book via internet as the prices are hiked for the tourists who book from abroad - phone in Thai and book. Probably not the cheapest, but you'll save on taxis etc especially when staggering out of a Spaky at 5am

Sawadee Khrup, TV CM Friends,

Thank you very much for all your thoughtful suggestions ! My friends found a place they like, thanks to you.

Hope you and families have a very Merry Christmas, whether you celebrate that day as holy- day or holi- day, or celebrate not.

best, ~o:37;
