Proxiy Servers

Featured Replies

I have researched the internet as much as possible on subject and there is a million servers listed, can anyone tell me a reasonable one that will work in Thailand. I am having problems opening some of my email that have attachments, and no it is not that kind of attachment!!

I'd suggest that you get another email hosting provider, because use of proxy servers is illegal in Thailand.

Actually not quite true (most if not all Thai ISPs use transparent proxies), the use of proxies or VPN to bypass government restrictions is illegal. Proxies and VPNs have many legitimate uses.

However, I'm not sure if the use of a proxy or VPN will help our OP get his email attachments, so replacing the email provider would be a logical step.

Do you have a Gmail account? try forwarding the problem mail to your gmail account see if that solves the problem.

Just a thought, as have tried it myself, send a document written on my PC running Windows 7, to a laptop still on Windows 98, the mail would not open.. found that even a laptop running XP and Office 2003 would not open an attachment.... something about the old Window OS/Office do not have the reader to open office 2007/10

I just used Hidemyass VPN for a month, not need it that much to continue but it's very good. As easy as can be nothing to set up on your system. Just download the software and whenever you want switch to your private network or quit, switching on takes 10 seconds, switching off 1 seconds. While switching you can keep your browser open. Switch countries or IP address with one click. They give a free 3 day trial, no spam etc. and good support when needed. Currently their main web address is blocked in Thai but you can request a free trial via email at info(at)hidemyass.com and they come with a from Thai accessible web address soon.

No, proxies are NOT illegal, neither are VPNs, it is only illegal to use them to bypass the government blocks.

You would be breaking US copyright law by watching US TV via a VPN, Thailand couldn't care less.
