Are Photo Copies Ok?

Are photocopies of my Sons birth certificate and his mothers id card ok when going to Penang to apply for non immigrant 'o' visa?

Safest to get them certified as true copies by your Embassy or MFA Consular Affairs Department.

They are being sent by post to me, so i dont have the originals. will they refuse to recognise them? I know a friend of mine took a copy to Hull Consulate and never had a problem, how about Penang? Any experience of this, i think my friend used to take a photo copy of his marriage certificate to get a visa.

Can certified copies be done and be sent to you ? It is too hard to call as regards the wants there in Penang. Quite unpredictable.
