When purchasing a Nok Air ticket online, a notice appears that says, "For International credit cards payments (credit cards issued outside Thailand),the cardholder must present their credit card at the airport check-in counter for physical verification. Otherwise, Nok Air reserved the rights to deny boarding." Do they actually check? I plan on taking a different credit card and not the one I used to purchase the ticket.

I can't answer for Nok Air specifically since I only flew them once and that was several years ago, but I'd say that the airlines have asked to see my credit card on least half my flights in the last two or three years.

Why take the chance?

I believe they all check.I don't see any problems. If ya plan on using that card book your flight with that card. You won't have any trouble. You'll have the card with ya.

I've never had any airline check for my CC when checking in, and my wife neither as I often book flights for her travelling alone using my CC without me travelling.

My most used airlines are Air Asia, Air France and Vietnam Airlines and I used to use Nok before when they flew to ha Noi and was never asked for a CC.

Thai Airways checks my credit card pretty much every time I've flown with them having made either an online or telephone booking.
