Extention Of Tourist Visa In Uk

Featured Replies

my thai gf has been in the uk now for 2 months on a 6 month tourist visa. her visa is due to expire the end of jan 2011. she was unable to come to england when her visa was granted as i was busy working. which meant she could only join me for her last 2 months of her visa allowance. my question is.. is it possible for her to apply for a visa extension while in the uk if she goes to british embassy in england. Can they re issue or extend her visa? im aware she is able to stay in england no more then 6 months. so will it be possible for her to get an extension to allow her to stay a little longer in England?

any help much appriciated, thanks u kindly in advance..

Yes, she can apply to extend her stay up to the maximum of 6 months. She must have at least 4 weeks left on her visa when she applies. The fee is £500 by post or £800 in person.

See Can I extend my stay as a general visitor? and the links on the right hand side of that page.
