Legendary musician Chuck Berry collapses during concert

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (BNO NEWS) -- Legendary rock and roll musician Chuck Berry on Saturday night collapsed in the middle of a performance in Chicago, Illinois, local media reported Sunday.

Berry, 84, slumped over onto a keyboardist around one hour after his concert began at Chicago's Congress Theater, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Seemingly weak, Berry was helped off stage. However, around 15 minutes later, Berry decided to go back on stage and finish off the show, but he was taken back stage once again in order to be checked by a medical staff. He again appeared on stage for the last time to thank the audience who waited patiently to see if the concert would continue.

Moments later, Berry was seen walking out the theater on his own and getting in a limousine. He is currently back at his home and in good health near St. Louis after the collapse, which was reportedly due to exhaustion.

"All I know is he felt faint, he felt weak, and I was told to call 911," Michael Petryshyn, the concert's promoter, told the paper following the incident.

Berry performed two shows the previous night in New York City.
