LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) -- Actor David Arquette reportedly checked himself into rehab during the new year's weekend, People Magazine reported on Sunday.

Arquette, 39, of Winchester, Virginia - who spent his new year's celebrations at Beacher's Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California - is reportedly seeking help for his alcohol problems and other issues. However, the problems did not include drug use.

"He is in there for drinking and depression, not hard drugs. Rehab was inevitable," the media's source stated. "He is dealing with a broken heart. He can't handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out."

Arquette made his Hollywood splash after appearing in the 1990s' horror trilogy 'Scream.' Besides acting, Arquette has also participated in other film projects as director, writer, and producer. Furthermore, along with musician Ben Harper, he has ventured into the fashion business with Propr Collection. Arquette has also worked as a professional wrestler.

The actor has a 6-year-old daughter with fellow actress Courtney Cox, but the couple have already separated.
