Glass Jars

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where I could get glass jars suitable for jams and pickles?

Located a manufacturer in BKK but 100 cases @ 24 per case minimum order.

MAKRO sells some fancy ones but too expensive.

I am in Samui so would have to ship to me.

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers

I've noticed you're not getting responses to your post here in the General forum. How about we try the Western Food in Thailand forum?

I'll also do some searching around and see what I can come up with.

Good luck!

I am not sure if you want the jars for your home use or for selling products, but have you considered clear plastic storage jars?

You can purchase these type of jars from the little stalls that you usually find on the ground floors of supermarkets such a Big C or sold in many of the markets around the country.

These are made from strong clear plastic with either screw on lids and some are airtight. They come in all shapes and sizes, lids in all colors and can start from as little as 10 baht each prices increase by size of jar.

We have some that we use at home, still going strong after 12 years.

Just an idea.

Verasu stocks Leifheit preserving jars in three different sizes. http://www.verasu.com

You could also have a look at the scrap/recycle centres where people usually sell their unwanted things.

You would be amazed at the things you stumble across at those places!

some years ago I came across one gallon glass jars, lid with an 'O' ring and air tight at the local tescos...as I was hankerin' to do some kim chee and pickled eggs they worked a treat...

check out the kitchen supplies area of yer local superstore...you might be pleasantly surprised...:)
