I am looking for a profesional and reliable course webdesign for beginners, had some bad expierences in Bangkok, any advice welcome.

Err? You dont need Java thats for sure. You might need Javascript for any interactivity. Lesson 1) Java and Javascript are totally unrelated despite the first 4 characters of the name - do not confuse them (crockford will burn you alive).

Unfortunately Google is populated with crap sites for html/css/javascript, there loads of good material on the net but more aimed at intermediate/advanced users. Best to get a good book at one of english bookstores (or next time your on a visa run to KL etc..). You'll probably find most people teaching web design are teaching it because they cant make a living out of it (and that should tell you something).. Read the books, get with blogs and forums, and maybe if back home visit a conference.
