Insurance premium rises after 1st year

Toyota Hilux Vigo 4x4 A/T diesel

Full insurance was 22k for first year, and now they quote 24k for similar package.

This is Virayah? (the one that Toyota dealers use).

Should I go with them or is it possible to get better deals elsewhere?

You could always try Thai Visa Insurance for a free quote ;)

In my experience, I've always found that Thanachart and QBE offer the best rates, and in the case of Thanachart, a much higher level of standard cover. QBE are very flexible when it comes to agreeing on a value for your car though, and are the only insurer I've delt with that will insure my cars for more than 80% of market value.

I'll second QBE for being flexible. I bought a car that had already had a lot of aftermarket stuff done and they asked me how much I wanted it insured for. It wasn't cheap, but they insured the car for what was in it.

I'm currently negotiating with AXA on their SmartDrive Policy which looks very good and they will allow upto 50% No Claim Bonus if you have the Paper work to Validate it. Check it out. The Manager in Khon Kaen, Mr Yongsubchat has been very quick to respond to my E-mails.

Thanks for the replies.

Thanachart insurane has two options. Full option which car for the calculation was valued at 600 000 (at viriyah it was 700 000) baht. This costs 19 000 baht.

The other option was lite: 5000 deductible for self-inflicted accidents: 13 200 baht.

Viriyah had car tax included, around 600 baht. Thanachart didn't.

Thanachart doesn't use Toyota's repair center. They have their own. They use Toyota parts though.
