Is It Safe Sending Driving License By Mail?

Featured Replies

Is it safe to have a current U.S. driving license sent to me from the U.S.by mail? I need it to apply for a Thai license. If it gets lost or stolen would it be a major problem. Anyone have any experience?

I would get it sent via DHL or UPS. Much safer and you will have a tracking number so you can follow your packages progress on the net. I have sent my passport via DHL and UPS to visa agents in my own country for work requirments. Never had a problem. Just make sure if you live in a rural area that they deliver to your area. You can find this out by contacting the local Thai office. Phone numbers can be found on the carriers web sites.

For sure don't use regular post. FedEx or DHL or something like that. You can track it that way.

Agreed ^^^

Does USPS have an equivalent of the Royal Mail's "International Signed For"? My parents use it for anything other than normal letters and nothing has gone astray :)

Had mine sent about a year and a half ago by USPS registered with tracking number, cost about $16 but arrived in our very small village no problem, took about a week to arrive. Chok dee!

I have never had a problem.

Your mileage may vary.

It'll be fine. Use USPS. Have had stuff like that sent many times.
