Holiday Visa To Australia

Featured Replies

I know a girl (Thai citizen) who has been on 3 previous holiday visits to Australia (for 3 months each time) with no problems. I was wondering if anyone knows if she was to apply for a 6 month or 12 month holiday visa, is it harder to get at VFS in Bangkok?

Thanks.

Depends on her situation.

Has she been to Oz on her own or with an Aussie partner.

Has she been told that she would need a more substantive visa next time.

The policy tends to be that the Embassy considers that if she has been 3 times to visit/or with the same person then she is no longer a tourist and needs to go down the spouse visa track. She would have been told this last time.

If she has been on her own and intends to do it again she will need to show sufficient funds to cover the time of stay.

VFS do not issue visas.....they are merely a collection point for applications. All visa applications are processed at the Embassy.
