Building Bunk Beds For Children

Featured Replies

Hello,

My daughters and I decided to build our own bunk beds. They opted for princess-type castles but we made a compromise and settled on a climbing wall to reach the top bunk. I have all the pieces measured and supplies written down but I neglected to figure out WHERE I can buy those rock things that you attach to a wall. Does anyone have any idea?

I don't need that many (4-6) and I understand that there is a wall at Big C in Lat Phro. I guess I can go ask the person operating the wall. I thought I would give it a shot and ask if any parents or climbers knows where to buy and could point me in the right direction. I am in Bangkok.

Thank you.

I sometimes have a bit of a faulty memory, but I remember supersports or sportsworld carrying climbing holds.

then there are places online to order climbing holds ....

if i can recommend one extra feature for a bunk bed: make sure there is still an other way up and down that is a bit easer then a climbing wall type thing, depending ont he age of the girls. from personal experience with my kids in their bunk beds (when they were young)is that when ill, or very tired, various 'fun' methods of getting on and off the top bunk are not fun when rushing to the bathroom quickly, or whatever, meaning we often had the sick daughter (the one in the top bunk) having to sleep on a mattress on the floor for easier accessibility for us and her (or whom ever had the top bunk at the time). if they are older, its less problematic.

climbing rocks are a cool idea but i think in some places its metal profile (bars/spikes) covered in some kind of out door plaster/cement mix painted to represent rocks...not sure of the stuff's name in english but in our petting zoo we had animals made of this mixture for kids to climb on... maybe some kind of polymere (bg bond polymere) mixed with cement. cant remember...

loveto see the photos after wards , such a cool idea.
