Has anyone flown Air Asia out of Kuala Lumpur to London on Business Class. If so what is the situation with food and alcohol? Also how are their flat seats, are they comfortable?

No have never used them because they use Stanstead airport which is not London and not convenient, the train into Liverpool Street is expensive and not reliable, think about your onward journey as well as your original question.

Thanks, Nong. That was very helpful.

from Stanstead, the regular bus service is £2 non-stop to Kings Cross and takes abt 1 hour 30 minutes.

Stansted Express train service direct to Liverpool Street. 45 mins. 20 quid single on the day. Cheaper if booked in advance

Or you could miss out going into London altogether if you don't need to go there.

But if the airfare saving is substantial those objections probably fall away. £20 is hardly expensive if you are flying business class and a taxi to say Bishops Stortford station isn't going to break the bank if the Express isn't running.

OP - what is the BC fare to Stanstead out of interest. Could be of interest when I take my wife and daughter back to the UK for a visit.

Edit: personally I'd pay a premium to avoid Heathrow, which is a horrible airport and costs £3-£6 (slow tube): £8 to £15 (slow or fast train): £70+ taxi to central London anyway.

Onward is not the problem as will be renting a car which will be delivered and only want to go a short distance from Stanstead. Have used Air Asia for short trips and they are not too bad at all. Just wondered if anyone had experienced their Business Class to UK as the price is VERY good at only THB60,409 ex KL. As I live in Phuket there is an additional THB5,000 down to there.

The flat bed seats are good and you can get a good sleep. Although they don't lie dead flat but near enough! It's not really a business class but Premium Class. If you are expecting the Business Class of a full service airline you will be disappointed.

Food and beverage wise things are average, its the same meals as in economy, heated up packet meals, but in Premium you get your 2 meals for free on the London flight together with a bottle of mineral water only per meal. Any additional drinks/alcohol you have to pay for.

The menus are avbl on their website.

Thanks for this information, it was just what I was looking for and answers rather as I thought it might.
