Dutch PM Rutte meets Britain's Cameron for bilateral talks

LONDON (BNO NEWS) -- British Prime Minister David Cameron on Monday welcomed Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte to Downing Street for bilateral talks.

The two leaders discussed a range of issues including the European budget and Afghanistan, among other topics. Cameron noted that the Netherlands is currently the second largest inward investor into the United Kingdom and that both nations were in favor of expanding free trade agreements through the Doha round of negotiations.

Rutte, according to Downing Street, spoke of the relationship between the Britain and the Netherlands as being traditionally "very strong and very solid."

Before Rutte's meeting with Cameron, the Dutch leader also met with UK Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.
