MOSCOW, RUSSIA (BNO NEWS) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Wednesday sacked the transport security chief following the terrorist attack on Moscow's Domodedovo airport.

According to RIA Novosti, Gen. Andrei Alekseyev was relieved of his duties at the Interior Ministry transport security directorate. The Russian leader warned that more dismissals will follow.

"If people don't understand how to work, we'll find other people," said Medvedev. "Russia needs a modern color-coded security system in the transport sector similar to the systems in use in the West."

The Russian President on Tuesday said that there were clear security breaches on Moscow's blast and those responsible will be punished including Domodedovo airport's management.

The blast at Domodedovo International Airport happened in the international arrivals hall at 4.32 p.m. local time in a general area where persons who are not passengers have free access. A total of 35 people were killed while 202 others were injured.

No group has taken responsibility for the terror attack yet. The explosion came less than 12 months after the Moscow metro blast which killed dozens and was perpetrated by two female suicide bombers from the North Caucasus region.
