You can sign up for free and play chess online.

Its a no rush set up, you can have your game settings so that you have between 3 and 10 days a move so you can disconnect and continue tomorrow if you are short of time. I do a few moves on each game everyday unless the player is online and play the whole lot in one go. Depends a lot on the other players as well really.
