Numchai on Sukhumvit did my Mitsubishi air cons, very good, on time and have a large service department.

Arnold Judas Rimmer of Jupiter Mining Corporation Ship Red Dwarf

Numchai give good service.

I also used PK air on Thepprasit to instal,a second hand unit Pittaya[owner] speaks good english and I had asked hime to service my old unit and because it needed no gas he said there was 'NO CHARGE'.Iinsisted he take 200 baht for the journey and time wasted.

I am not sure if I would use him when I need a new A/C as on completion of installation of my second hand unit he used a screwdriver to short across the live terminal.

I have some problems with the fan switching off during the night and wonder if his actions could have caused this effect.I will need a new A/C before the hot season.

Perhaps someone could tell me if they know of any reason for shorting the electric [causes a big spark and dripped hot metal that damaged one of my floor tiles.]

In college we used to charge up large capacitors and than throw a screw driver

on the terminals. It would make a very loud popping noise, equivalent to discharging

a firearm (if the cap is large enough).

So I would speculate your installer was just having some fun ! I can't think of a

reasonable technical explanation ... unless he was trying to bypass some sort

of a switch or relay ....

it's your money and therefore your prerogative to select noisy (both inside and outside) rattlers :whistling:

If you are referring to Mitsu units, than your information is absolutely wrong ...

Daiken overstates/over-markets how quiet their units are. If you ignore the

marketing hype and compare the actual data sheet you will understand.

Also try to compare equivalent units ....

Make sure it is properly installed ...

From personal experience; Mitsubishi Electric dealer/installer on North Pattaya Road, about 100 yards past Fascino Pharmacy shop on the same side.

Best price we could find and did a good job. Have had them do the bi-annual clean of the air con units, no problem and so no complaints.

Which units did you buy and when? How much did you pay for the units/installation? How much for the bi-annual cleans?

I was wondering if it was some sort of earthing/safety test as my house only has 2-pin wiring.

I would also like to know the servicing cost by the North Pattaya mitsu dealer.

Hi All,

just wanted to follow up with my A/C mess ....

So it seems there is a limited number of Mitsu Dealers in Pattaya.

Num Chai was one of the most expensive guys and Central Air the

cheapest.

I placed my order with Central Air. Was told one week to get the unit

from Bkk to Pattaya. Gave them a deposit, got the paperwork ...

3 days later I am getting a call they want 1,000 baht extra to bring the

unit from Bkk to Pattay. Not to happy, but I agreed. 3, days, 4 days

nothing. I call them, and they tell me now that because of Chinese

New Year the Mitsu offices in Bkk will be closed and I have to wait

another week. But Monday (Feb 14) they will come and install it.

Got a call today from them saying that now they need 4,000 baht

more as Mitsu bkk is charging them more.

I declined and they gave me back my deposit. My impression is

that Central Air is very sneaky to get the customer in with an

initially low price but jack it up the price as they go along.

Now I ordered a slightly larger and more expensive Daiken unit

through ARC. ARC has installed other A/Cs in my house before,

and they seemed to be doing a good job. But unfrotunatley now

I have to wait another week ... TIT, keep on smiling ....

Cheers,

rudi

^ Central air are a bunch of clowns ( female clowns that is ).Have asked them a few times for aircon prices but when they give you a price and you ask which model it is they will answer, the new model but are not able to give you the correct type number.

Wanted to place once an order with them for 5 units, but they refused to deliver them to my place.
