roger1999
I have an appointment next week at the American Consulate. I haven't been around there for a long while. Will parking a car be an issue? I'd prefer a lot where I can pay to park, or a legal spot on the street. Thanks.
gotlost
Parking around the Consulate can be a tough. I prefer to park at the AIS office on Thai Pae Road (20 baht) and take a Tuk Tuk or you can walk.
happyrobert
I was there last week. Parking was not a problem. A local driver was trying to negotiate a parallel parking manuever and after numerous failed attempts ( seven after my arrival), even with the aid of waving family members in the street and on the sidewalk, finally gave up and moved on. I slid into the spot only a block from the consulate. I did not see any other spaces before or after that. It's a tough area. Seriously, you'd be better parking a ways off and taking a tuk-tuk. LJW
I am always able to park on the street directly in front of the entrance. It is always easy for me, but that is due to my good luck only
CPT
You could park in the garage that serves Warorot market. It's only about a 1/2 km walk. Car parking on the street can be difficult in the area.
Ned
Almost directly opposite Star Visa and where they sell bananas there is a car parking area......20 baht for as long as you like.
krading
You could try and park out the front but that would depend on what you are wearing at the time.

ericthai
I always park at the office building across the street (Sindhorn Building) then just cross the street.
keemapoot
I also always park at the Sindhorn building, directly across the street. However, I noticed recently that it is becoming very expensive to park there. Still, it's the most convenient.
mystwoodcol
Get one of the many Americans living in CM (the 53rd state) just to drop you off and pick you up. According to another post there must be Americans driving past all the time as there is so many of them living in CM now
ProThaiExpat
The consulate has a parking lot accessible down a soi immediately south of the side entrance on the way to the bridge from the pointed roundabout, I think they charge as do all parking lots. roger1999
The Consulate web site says that they have no parking available. Maybe this lot is managed by someone else?
dingdongrb
I most generally get there early enough to obtain a parking spot directly on the street by the river. And the few times I wasn't able to land one there is parking down the small alley (soi) just pass the guarded entrance across the street from the river. Last year when I used that the cost was 20 baht.
