Non 'O' Visa Renewal

Featured Replies

Hi all, Just a little confused as to my options ? Here is the scenario: I am currently on a non 'o' visa (wife is Thai) we have 2 children and she does not wish to return to the UK. Must I return alone to the to get a new non 'o' or can I get new one in neighbouring country ?

I have a small amount of cash monthly, certainly not 100k, more like 30 ! The main problem is I do not want to be apart from the children, and thought was possible to get locally as would obviously be leaving the country. If this is the case, does she need to come with me ? as she was not required to get original one in UK just app form and marriage licence (married in UK).

Any advice would be appreciated.

A non-O visa can be obtained from a neighboring country. But only KL will issue a multiple non-O, if you can show at least 100,000 baht worth in the bank. (Not an income of 100,000 a month (Can be abroad).

Most other consulates in the region expect you to apply for an extension of stay from immigration. For that you need an income of 40,000 a month (can be from abroad)

OR

400,000 in a bank account in Thailand in your name only.

As Mario said 400,000 in a Thai bank or 40,000 monthly income for a 12 month extension from Immigration.

OR

100,000 in any bank for a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa from KL.

Hi, Thanks, so basically is cheaper for me to fly back to UK (25000) and get new one there (5000) ?

I would have though it would be cheaper to fly to KL.

The 100k in bank accounts only needs to be there for the time it takes to apply for the one year non immigrant O visa in KL. An alternative would be single entry with no proof of funds and followed by 60 day extension from immigration and save the 25k UK fare and put in bank so next time, or next next time, you can obtain locally.

Remember if’s a combination of both. Money in the Bank plus your 30K per month would do.

12x30= 360 therefore you would only require 40,000 in the bank.

Lopburi is best on this subject.

Unfortunately, only an extension of stay based on retirement allows a combination of income and money in the bank. An extension of stay based on marriage does not.

I think you are wrong Mario, look for sunbelt lawyers, they say a combination of stay based on marriage is also good.

That information was outdated. You can link to their page now: http://www.sunbeltle...rriage-Visa.php

and see that their information has been updated.

The current police order is as per post above and does not allow it.

Yes. Income OR savings. Not both.
