February 8, 201115 yr I want to say something like 'your child is bullying mine at school.' My Thai dictionary comes up with a lot of words and I'm not sure of the differences or nuances. After all, 'bully' can mean 'good for you' and 'good job.' If you have any ideas, may I ask you to write them in Thai as well as in English phonetic script? I want to talk to her teacher as well as the parents and school admin, and some Thai script would help.

February 12, 201115 yr I dont thing the word แกล้ง conveys the seriousness of bullying. แกล้ง is more like "tease" I am not sure about the correct word, but i think คนพาล or นักเลง (nouns) would convey it better. I hope you get it sorted.
February 12, 201115 yr I agree with Murf, แกล้ง is used more for teasing maybe ทะเลาะกัน would be better. While it doesn't put the blame on any particular child, if you tell another parent this it may be more diplomatic and achieve the desired effect better.

The first word 'com' is to use power to suppress someone. ข่มขู่ is a verb and fits right in to your syntax ลูกของคูณได้ข่มขู่ลูกผม For Bully the noun it says is นักเรียนอันธพาล the adjective เกะกะระราน; disorderly bumtious causing harm or mischief including bullying. I am not sure you want to judge the other kid maybe ask if they tolerate Nak rian antapaan Dek gay ga ra raan I don't know how serious that would sound but perhaps you want to be serious. แกล้ง is to make life difficult for someone usually by being false I think. Those are a few relevant words to add to what you have if you don't speak Thai the more words you use the easier it is for the listener to work out what the problem is.

They say it means bully, as with kids. to bully แกล้ง klâeng We taught our kids not to bully anyone. พวกเรา สอน ลูก ไม่ ให้ แกล้ง ใคร phûak-rao săwn lûuk mâi hâi klâeng khrai Well I certainly can't claim any colloquial meaning to my ideas, I only have books not people to refer to. Don't forget that Thai may not know what bullying is, it is not the only problem kids have at school. Maybe แกล้ง is a good word for bullying, ทำให้เดือดร้อนรำคาญ but it does no harm to know other words. แกล้ง also means แสร้ง which is to pretend, so kids make life difficult for other kids by being dishonest. It does no harm to have a few words up your sleeve to get a message across, and the meaning of ข่ม is definitely the use of power to suppress.
